Friends of Ship 72,|
past Sunday, Ben Davis, Purser Brandon
Gardiner, Grant Putnam and Kenny Albano
along with Skipper Dean, Mate Brad and
former Sea Scout Jeff Putnam (now Scoutmaster
of Troop 83) enjoyed a beautiful sail
on the LUNA, our new vessel. We left Areys
Pond at 7:30 AM and returned at 10:30AM.
At the mouth of the river we set sail
and sailed over to our mooring at Kents
Point. We practiced picking up the mooring
marker and secured the LUNA just like
we practiced at the scout hut. From there
we sailed little Pleasant Bay thru the
Narrows into Pleasant Bay with strong
winds blowing. It was a great time. The
vessel handled great and is the right
boat for our Ship at this time. The scouts
were able to practice the skills that
they had been working on for the past
it be known that the LUNA, a 26 ft. ODay
donated by Mr. and Mrs. Davis of Orleans
has added much to the program of THE NAUSET
SEA SCOUTS. The Ship really appreciates
the gift and thanks the donors amincly.
Wednesday, October 20, 2010 we will meet
at the scout hut at 7:00PM to 8:00PM.
A land ship, advancement cards and cooking
skills for the Turkey Shoot November 11,
12, and 13 will be our main focus.
welcome our NEW MATE KAREN WALTHER to
our ship. Karen who was brought up on
the waters of Cape Cod brings many talents
to the leadership staff of Ship 72. Look
for her bio on our website (seascoutship72.org
) in the next weeks.
