Ship 72 Skipper Dean Skiff says:

These periodic posts are made to keep Ship 72 members, parents, and interested folks informed as to our activities and our plans.

I welcome positive feedback.

Ahoy All!

You are invited to our OPEN HOUSE, Saturday May 2nd, starting at 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at our LANDSHIP, 46 Beach Road, Orleans, MA 02653.

Come and go as you please. Enjoy a free hot dog. There will be no pressure to join but come take a look at what we have to offer and see if it might be for you.

This is an opportunity to introduce students AND parents to EXPLORER CLUB 72 (male and female, ages 11 to 13 ) and SEA SCOUT SHIP 72 (male and female, ages 14 to 20 ).

MIDDLE SCHOOL SEA EXPLORERES learn about maritime careers on Cape Cod while engaging in boating activities and life skills throughout the year.

NAUSET SEA SCOUTS learn to safely have fun on water while practicing maritime skills through maintaining and sailing their fleet of vessels.

Membership, which includes insurance, is only $26 per year.

Don’t wait! Tell your parents and friends about this free opportunity of fun, excitement and learning.

You can inspect and board our vessels:
  • two historic 26 ‘ Race Point surf rescue pulling boats,
  • a Herreshoff American 18‘ catboat,
  • a 17’ Aquasport center console power boat and
  • a 23’ O’Day sloop.
Hands-on activities such as sail handling, navigation, knot tying, anchor care and oar handling will be available. A short film on sailing will be shown throughout the event.

We look forward to answering all questions and to meeting you. Give your computer and i-phone a rest and see what living on Cape Cod was like years ago and what it offers today.
