Ship 72 Skipper Dean Skiff says:
These periodic posts are made to keep Ship 72 members, parents, and interested folks informed as to our activities and our plans.
I welcome positive feedback.
the FRIENDS OF NAUSET SEA SCOUT SHIP 72,|
2009 ship committee has approved the 2010
leadership recommendation from the selection
committee made up of Skip Hall, Dick Eble,
Steve Edwards, Lise Neilsen, Dean Skiff,
Bob Wissmann and Dennis St. Auburn. The
Selection committee was facilitated by
District Scout Executive Dick Aiken. We
started with well over 20 names of well
qualified candidates for skipper and after
a month found no one that had the time
for the position. ( And Capt. Mike Allard
did it for 33 years!)
everyone supported the ship and most offered
to help in some capacity. With such a
strong support of not only qualified but
nice individuals offering to fill other
leadership roles, I accepted the position
of Skipper with Capt. Mike's blessing.
(I could not refuse the high pay.) It
is now our job to right Ship 72 and we
ask everyone for their support and help.
Skipper and Mates work directly with the
kids, guiding and directing them as the
scouts run their own program under the
wide umbrella of the " Sea Scouts".
Ship Committee approves and oversees the
Ship's Leaders along with the Ship's programs

area of experience/knowledge and are a
vital part of making a ship successful.

is great. We now have in place:
As we grow and prove our worth, donations from the community in boats, trailers,
anchors, life vests, etc. will hopefully
enhance the program.

to come and see what we are all about.
Please give us some time to get the EVENTS

happening day by day.
would like to thank everyone from our
past leaders/volunteers to our present

us to this position. I have all the confidence
with the vast support of the Nauset community
that Ship 72 will soon be seaworthy and
sailing proudly. The leadership asks for
your help and welcomes all ideas and hands
who would like to join us.
