Ship 72 Skipper Dean Skiff says:

These periodic posts are made to keep Ship 72 members, parents, and interested folks informed as to our activities and our plans.

I welcome positive feedback.

AHOY SHIP 72,

Eight sea scouts and 3 adults had the opportunity to steer the CG36500 Rescue Motor Boat out of Rock Harbor on a beautiful day. It was a great treat which will make reading the book or watching the new Disney movie, (scheduled to be released this January) “’THE FINEST HOURS” a personal experience.

We are all still wondering how 30 some men were able to fit in the forward cabin and how Coxswain Bernie Webber ever maneuvered the little overloaded boat in such heavy seas.

A special thanks goes to Dick Ryder who volunteered his time and to the Orleans Historical Society who maintains and preserves one of America’s most historic boats.

This Wednesday night we will be concentrating on getting the LUNA ready for launching. Wear old clothes. Skipper will be there at 1800 hours so if any crew or adults can come early to help, it will be appreciated.
