JUNE 27, 0900 HOURS at MILL POND,
This will be a real treat. We will
launch a surfboat and row Mill Pond
into Nauset Harbor. (post card setting)
We will practice commands normally
used as well as some that will be
used from trailered boat in 4th
of July Parade.
We will learn how to launch and
how to haul boat onto trailer from
the water safely.
We will go rain or shine. BE
PREPARED (scout motto) for
any weather conditions.
you are a SEA SCOUT, not a fair
weather sailing sailor in a yachting
program! You are taught to handle
what might be thrown in front of
you so you will be prepared for
what happens on the water which
can be carried over to LIFE!!!!
.water, snack, sun
block, rain gear etc. and be prepared
to get foot wear wet. NO FLIP FLOPS
WITH OUT HEAL STRAPs.
WILL HAVE FUN, LEARN, JOKE, EAT
AND WE WILL DO WHAT MANY CAN ONLY
DREAM ABOUT DOING !!!!
temp. was just right and a pleasant
different row was experienced than
the windy row at Arey's Pond. I
think the crew is starting to experience
that every trip on the water is
different, even at the same location
which they will soon experience.
had a pre-run of towing the 25
ft. surfboat which he will do in
the Parade. The crew had a pre-run
of the OAR SALUTE that we will do
at the Judges stand on the 4th.
Hats and dress polo shirts will
be ready for the parade.
appreciated Paul Cass from Lower
Cape TV shooting more film of Ship
72 and another of our events.
- The first pic is when beached at Pricilla's Landing after starting out from Mill Pond.
- The second pic is returning to Mill Pond with Steve McLeod at Sweep Oar. He felt right at home.
- The third pic is from Grand View Estates, the opposite side of from the landing from where we launched
the boat showing Robert's Cove and the opening of Nauset Harbor.
