Whydah Museum Tour - March 19, 2017

Good afternoon to everyone,

19 Sea Scouts, Explorers, parents and adult leaders came out to tour the Whydah Pirate Museum in W. Yarmouth and by all accounts, it was a rewarding experience.

Marie, who is one of the archeologists, was a great presenter and wove the story of a number of the pirates off the Whydah into the real life history of pirates.

The museum is very well designed and had plenty of interest for all of us and our spread in ages. The tour ended in the lab where there are objects recovered from the wreck, still encrusted with iron ore, that are being worked on by archeologists.

Thanks to all who came out and participated.

Our next event is Mystic Seaport on April 2 – to visit a replica of a working maritime village, and the many historic vessels at the docks.

Check out our website from time to time. We’re getting better at keeping it up to date. Seascoutship72.org
